A Cancelled Event Turned Into An Ally & Alicia Fashion Adventure
So me and Alicia met up together to take on the fashion and beauty fall fashion preview event, but unfortunately when we got to the venue it was cancelled, so we ended up turning our day into a fashion adventure since we had nothing else to do. We had already planned to meet up a couple hours before the event to do a little window shopping, but of coarse a fashion girl can##Q##t resist shoes.
While at Winners in my city, Richmond, we immediately went to the shoe section. I had been looking for some summer wedges so I can be comfortable walking around while still looking super cute. I picked a handful of different shoes, but once I slipped these babies on, it was love at first fit. I found an amazing pair of chunky earthy toned BCBGeneration heeled sandals, and boy did the leather feel like butter against my sensitive skin. Better yet, not only were they comfortable, and fantastic quality, they were only $50! Now if you know Winners, they have the comparable sticker price which was valued at over $100, so I couldn##Q##t pass them up. While we were still in the shoe aisle, I pleaded Alicia to try on these amazing fuchsia pink and almost-red-pink colour-blocked heels that reminded me of Biba in the times of Twiggy. Ironically, the brand name is “Diba” and were only $15, the knocked down price was on sale, how fabulous is that?!
After that little expedition, we went to Pacific Center and B-lined it to Holt Renfrew. As it turned out, there was a spring and summer sale happening. We ended up drooling over Valentino and Tom Ford dresses and before we had gone into complete fantasy land, I checked my phone and was shocked to find 2 and a half hours had flown by. We rushed to the sky train to head to the event.
So wouldn##Q##t you know it, we got there and it was cancelled unfortunately. Since we were dressed up like fashionistas would be, we had to make a quick escape from hooting and hollering boys and somewhere into the shade. Low and behold, we found this really cool wall mural in this back alley way by Olympic Village. The pictures we took were only a small fraction of the whole piece, most of it was covered by parked cars. We decided we would take pictures of our outfits, feel free to be inspired from them.
As funny as it is, me and Alicia are quite the opposites, but make a good team. Check out my 50##Q##s pin-up girl style with the loose curls and red lips, with my new shoes. Then there##Q##s Alicia##Q##s 20##Q##s flapper girl inspiration sense of style; her LBD with the bright mod shoes she had just bought make a pop of colour; it puts a modern twist on it in a retro funky way.
We got pretty hungry after all that excitement, especially with us laughing so hard that we kept making each other trip in our new heels. So we went back to Richmond to eat at Pearl Castle and get us some good ol##Q## bubble tea. Here you have caramel milk green tea and mint chocolate bubble tea with us sharing an order of chicken nuggets with fried rice. The entre was large enough to fill us both up at a great price of $8. (Sorry about the half-eaten photos, we were famished!)
