Arguably best known for their fashion-forward designs, Dutch-bred retailer gsus sindustries showed their new collection last week during World MasterCard Fashion Week. The collection, dubbed Tour Des Alpes, represents a coming together of two worlds. Taking influences from nature and cultural heritage – including Alpine folklore and the Swiss cross – Tour Des Alpes is a story unto itself. The collection’s story unfolds in three unique chapters: Mountain Guards, Mountain Village, and Snow Patrol.
Inspired by the boy scouts and their gear, such elements as robes and carabineers were added to shape the collection’s feminine dresses. For men, boy scouts’ badges were used as inspiration for subtle embroidery. Original graphics and statement colours
such as pale peach pastel for women and a unique mixture of grey and green for men give the cultivated scouting uniform the signature gsus sindustries stamp. Inspiration for the collection’s colour palette was lifted from classic vintage ski imagery, such as retro red, navy black and beige. From these colours, along with classic folklore from the Alps and the military scouting look, the modern image of gsus sindustries’ F/W Collection was born.
