Hey guys, sorry for the lack of posts on my part. I have been super busy with shoots and other creative projects. I usually post about womenswear on here, but we actually have a lot of male viewers on the blog, so shout out to all the gentlemen reading this. This post is for you!
New York Fashion Week has wrapped and if you haven’t already watched the shows then you definitely should. This season I’ve really been digging the menswear trends and feel that a lot of them can be worn on an everyday basis. Here are my top three:
1) Graphic Knits
I’m a sucker for a cozy knit sweater (especially if it’s a turtleneck) and of course adding a funky print to play things up a bit has got me super excited. My favourite prints this season are checkered print and houndstooth. I think a stripe or checkered sweater with a classic pair of black jeans and possibly a leather jacket would make an awesome look.
Here are some of my picks:
a) APC Sweater
c) Asos Sweater
2. Oversized Coats
In my opinion oversized coats are the best outerwear trend to happen this season. Not only do they leave extra room for the layering trend, but they’re also super comfortable and will keep you warm during those cold Canadian winters. I love the look of oversized coats in the colour navy because it’s less expected then black, but still a very classic look.
3) Distressed Jeans
Distressed jeans are definitely more of a street wear trend this season and I have seen both girls and guys rocking the look. I love lighter wash distressed denim. For a while dark wash raw denim was all the rage, but I’m starting to notice lighter shades being added back in the mix.
PS: I always appreciate a guy who is super daring and can rock the denim on denim look, so Canadian, eh? But seriously if you can pull that off props to you my friend.
c) Topman Jeans
So there you go guys. In no particular order these are my top three menswear trends for this fall. And looking over them I just realized you could probably wear all three trends together for a killer ensemble! Good luck shopping around, maybe you’ll even consider some of the pieces I recommended in the links. See ya next time!!
