New York Fashion Week F/W Takeaways – NYFW

NYFW F/W14 Trends

New York Fashion Week is not for the faint-hearted of designers. As the first fashion week of the season, it sets the tone for the upcoming events across the world. Those choosing to show at this exclusive fashion event have to hit hard and make a statement to be remembered, whilst giving a taster of the major trends to come in the season ahead. NYFW’s top designers did not disappoint, and whilst there are far too many spectacular designs and designers for us to cram into one blog post, here are a few of the big trends according to NYFW.

Patchwork

Colour blocking has been taken to the next level with the fun and fresh trend.  Blocking colours and textures was a strong statement on the runway.

Statement Jackets

Last season was all about creating a ‘wow’ factor with over-sized coats. This season we see statement jackets featuring heavily.

Knits

If New York’s runways are anything to go on, texture is going to be a big trend this F/W and knits will feature heavily. These are some of my favorite fun pieces.

Graphics

Heavy graphics continue to dominate the runway, There were so many great examples of this trend but, alas, we had to whittle it down!

Red

Red looks set to be making a big splash this coming season. As my personal favorite colour, I have to say I am happy to see it hitting the runway in quite such style.
