Luxurious – Stylish – must be the Swiss ski resort of Zermatt

After spending an incredible 2 weeks in the luxurious and stylish Swiss ski resort of Zermatt over the New Year holiday, I was so delighted when I discovered that this was to be the backdrop for the “Bachelor” Finale!

But let’s talk about that exclusive Swiss resort where there is no such thing as fashion excess. FUR! FUR! FUR! Even a little FAUX for those who are not a Swedish Princesses or a Vacationing Royal? Everything; from fur  coats, hats to big fury boots graced paths of this snow lined European village. Missioni was a favorite, with lots of pieces from the winter 2011 and the fall pre-collection making appearances down the snowy catwalk of the village stroll.

A “must do” for any traveling fashionista is without a doubt indulging in the  “après ski” Champagne Bars and Chalets, conveniently located on all the ski runs at various points down the hill. The dress code amongst these savvy stylish ski bunnies is definitely a warm comfy feather down filled Moncler vest, “The Tarn” is the most popular with its fur trimmed collar. For those taking the après into evening, the Moncler “Armoise” jacket in white made from the signature lacquered nylon fabric is a “must have”. I should also mention that I was a very proud Canadian to see so many people wearing the ever popular Canada goose down jackets, I, of course, was warm the entire trip in my black “Chilliwack”!!

Take a stroll down the charming main street where you will not find any cars, just electric cabs. I also suggest you treat yourself to a horse drawn carriage ride under the beautiful alpine moon and savor a warm and delicious truffle cheese fondue at one of the many lively restaurants. Make sure to pop into one of the many luxury watch stores, you are on Swiss time after all!!  Admire the craftsmanship or try on a stunning diamond encrusted creation!

Don’t forget to pack cozy fur trimmed moccasins and a cable knit sweater for lounging around your chalet by the fire! It can get windy and cold so make sure to bring lots of moisturizer and lip balm to keep your lips soft and kissable at all times! I don’t leave home without my Linacare Transforming Face Cream or my Clinique Super Balm lip treatment. There is nothing more romantic than a true love kiss with the backdrop of the awe inspiring Matterhorn Mountain! We all watched Ben give away his final rose and stunning Neil Lane ring to his Courtney, did he choose wisely, time will tell. But at least if you are ever in Zermatt with your bachelor, you will know all the “ins” and “outs” of dressing like a stylish Swiss Miss!! Now go indulge in a glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne and toast to your fabulous life, when things look right and taste good all is well.
