MOVE OVER HUNTER BOOT, YOU##Q##VE GOT A NEW PARTNER
||Just as the traditional Hunter Boots sloshed their way from practical outdoorsy welly into a fashion staple this year, with a take no prisoners attitude, I believe I have found the next new crossover fashion find, that in my opinion will soon become the hottest trend in contemporary outdoor wear. It’s called BARBOUR. If you##Q##ve never heard of the 100 year old brand, this English countryside cousin of the Hunter Boot is without question, set to have its day in the sun!I happened to stumble across this find while traveling with Superman on an excursion to Scotland, whereby I was informed I would need a few outdoorsy coats to keep me toasty. Not knowing where to look, and knowing how difficult it is to find a jacket that is warm and cute, I knew this was not going to be an easy task. So, I decided to take a peak in one of Britain##Q##s most loved department stores, John Lewis. This store, which is known for its love of British labels, is where I came upon the Barbour jacket. They had an entire wall of them and to my surprise; they were all as fantastic as the other.
|The designs were totally contemporary and hip and still warm and practical! I tried on quite a few and wondered why these jackets were not huge in North America yet. I bought two and as we walked back down Oxford Street, I couldn##Q##t help but notice I was not alone, so many Brit##Q##s were wearing Barbour!Known for over 100 years as the clothier of the sportsman, Barbour has been the standard outfitter for country living in Britain. Historically designed for durability, and the ability to endure even the harshest outdoor climates, Barbour has stood for practicality. However, over the years, their collections took notice of even the Queen and more and more people started to associate Barbour with casual wear and in 1997, the first Barbour shop was opened in the world famous Harrods.
||Since arriving back home in Vancouver, I have taken full advantage of the chilly weather and worn my Barbour almost daily and simply cannot walk down the street without someone stopping me and asking me where I got my jacket. Get ready to pair your HUNTER##Q##S with BARBOUR and that##Q##s my fashion forecast!!
