Andre Soriano channels the high fashion and high art; with influences from cosmopolitan cities worldwide such as New York, Los Angeles, Paris, London, Milan and Tokyo. Some of his celebrity clients include Aisha Tyler, Misty Upham, Kiara Belen (ANTM) among many others. Andre appeared on Bravo’s reality TV series Styled to Rock, hosted by Rihanna.
I loved the theatricality of Andre’s show at Style Fashion Week, and it’s probably the one that I really connected with. His collection was called Screen Sirens and inspired by Old Hollywood Glamour. From the choice of music, to models, to fabrics and colours, Andre Soriano put on a beautifully inspired show that had everyone gasping towards the end.
Being an actress I got chills down my spine as the music that blared during his show included Best Actress Oscar winners introductions and speeches from Audrey Hepburn, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett among many others.
Moving to America from the Philippines at an early age exposed Soriano to another level of culture; from music, painters, art, architecture and theater, which compiled into his creativity. Soriano’s vision and fashion interpretation is inspired by Old Hollywood glamour for today’s women and men in mind. “I always gravitate to Old Hollywood Glamour, that was my collection for 2013. My inspirations are young Hollywood starlets like Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and Pherell Williams.”
