Like the rest of the fashion world, we here at Assignment Fashion are eagerly awaiting tomorrow, when the Alexander Wang x H&M collection hits shop floors. To get you really in the mood we thought we would give a little taster of what’s to come, as well as a rundown of the collections star studded runway debut last month at The Armory on the Hudson in New York City. The venue was transformed from an indoor track and field stadium to a fashion arena for the collections global launch.
Jessica Chastain, Mary J. Blige and Dakota Fanning were among the guests who saw the performance-wear inspired collection presented on the futuristic racetrack runway.
From what we have seen so far, the collection is an extension of Wang’s unique creative process, and stays inline with his strong and distinct aesthetic. The active wear is both fashionable and most important, functional. AF is a big fan off attainable fashion, and we love seeing these partnerships that bring well know fashion designers to mass markets, especially when they stay true to their design principles. These partnerships expose people to designers and fashion they may not have known or followed which helps regrow an industry still catching up from the 2008 financial collapse.
The collection will be available in 250 H&M stores worldwide starting November 6, 2014.
