Accessorize Yourself

Accessories are challenging for some people. They can make or break an outfit and there are so many different ways to wear them. First step is picking out an accessory that is in style. Second step is integrating it into your ensemble in a way that doesn’t distract from the outfit as a whole. The idea seems straight forward, but can potentially cause great frustration for those less familiar with the art of accessorising. Luckily I consider myself a true artiste and expert on the subject, so I gotcha girl.

Step 1: Pick your accessory (really just “catch ‘em all”- my boi Ash)

Trending accessories are a go to for me because people understand them. It’s much easier to make something that’s in style look good than a more obscure accessory that people don’t see often. So unless you’re a true fashionista I would stick to something that most people will relate to and recognize.

Step 2: Integrate the accessory

Accessories add an element of depth to your outfit, but it’s important to wear them sensibly and not as a distraction. Cat eye sunglasses would look incredible with a simple maxi dress or business suit. Being one of the trendiest accessories of the year, a fab pair of cat eyes can be both fun and sophisticated depending on how you choose to style them. Plus, they can easily be worn with most items in your existing wardrobe.

Step 3: Confidence!

Rock your new accessories with confidence because if you don’t believe in yourself how can you expect other people to? As my friend Alex likes to tell me, “Confidence, Kelsey”.

Thanks, Alex.
