As a first-time guest of the Long Beach International Salon and Spa Expo (ISSE), I wasn##Q##t quite sure what to expect, but I was enthralled by its beauty. Before even entering the convention, there were hundreds of people in line waiting for their opportunity to explore the thousands of square feet of vendors. Getting inside was worth the wait and the price of admission. Vendors included TIGI, Modern Salon, P&G Salon Professional, and Vidal Sassoon, among many others from around the world.
Once inside, it##Q##s impossible not to get inspired by the tens of thousands of people around you that share the same passion. It##Q##s incredibly easy to find hot new products, expand your professional network, and to make new friends. They were even doing a shoot on the floor for Z!NK Magazine!
As I briefly interviewed various hairstylists from various countries, they all had the same thing to say about ISSE – it was a very valuable experience and one of the events (if not the event) that they look forward to the most every single year. From all the corners of the globe, everyone feels the same way about ISSE. If you haven##Q##t had the opportunity yet to make it to this expo, do yourself a favor and create that opportunity for next year.
Not everyone at the expo is a large, international corporation, though. There are countless sole proprietors & salons that attend this show, such as Traci Garrett from David-Anthony Salon in Laguna Beach. When discussing the show, she mentioned how “the vendors I am meeting here are so nice, so genuine, and incredibly helpful. I was expecting an incredible experience, but I didn##Q##t expect to be this overwhelmed! It##Q##s like I##Q##m a kid in the largest candy store in the world and I don##Q##t know where to begin.”
If you have any questions about the event, the vendors I chatted with, or anything else that grabs your interest.
